A Strong Partnership

The Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society is a private, non-profit organization whose programs and services are totally funded by charitable contributions.  More than 3,500 trained volunteers, at about 250 offices afloat and ashore, accomplish the majority of the Society’s work.  They are supported by a small cadre of paid employees.  The Society enjoys an active partnership with the leadership of the Navy and Marine Corps at bases around the world and benefits extensively from the active involvement of the command structure at bases where the Society maintains a presence.

On March 16, 2011, the Society received this letter from Admiral Gary Roughead, USN, the Chief of Naval Operations and the Society’s Chairman of the Board.
