Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society Annapolis Thrift Shop Grand Reopening

Arlington, VA, Tuesday, November 3, 2015 - Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS) Annapolis Thrift Shop will reopen in its new facility. The NMCRS Annapolis Thrift Shop, recently relocated to the old Youth Center on Alder Road on Naval Station Annapolis, will open its doors with a ribbon cutting event on Thursday, November 5 at 10:30 a.m.  The thrift shop is open weekly for shopping on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.; and on the third Wednesday of each month from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and the third Saturday of each month from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Donated items can be dropped off during these business hours.

The NMCRS Annapolis Thrift Shop offers gently-used, low-cost uniforms, clothing and small household items to active duty and retired Sailors, Marines and their families.

“We’re grateful to all the volunteers who manage and work in this thrift shop, especially for all the hard work and hours they put in to make this new shop the showcase store it has become.  We are also grateful to the base leadership who gave us this new location and the added space that it affords,” said Melodie Weddle, Director of the NMCRS Washington Navy Yard Office that oversees the Annapolis location.  “The Society’s thrift shops help service members better afford the expenses that come with setting up household at their new duty station, as well as inexpensive clothing for family members and especially infants and children.”
